We Teach You How

IRCC Changes

Looks like IRCC will be making some significant changes to International Studies proceures.

Usually when we hear about changes in rules, regulations or procedures we groan and think “not again – what now?”

That’s because changes often mean more red tape, more hoops to jump through and more expense.

Fortunately it appears that this time around, the changes may actually be good.

First, it seems that IRCC is going to require confirmation of letters of acceptance from designated learning institutions. This is apparently in response to recent issues invovling fraudulent letters of acceptance. A review of coverage of this issue reveals that approximately 700 Indian students are facing deportation because of fraudulent letters of acceptance have been used in their applications.

Yeah, there are a lot of scammers out there, so be careful. Requiring the schools to confirm to IRCC that they did indeed issue a letter of acceptance, should help this a lot.

It also looks like IRCC will be making adjustments in how they process applications. There is a system in the works for IRCCto give priority treatment to study permit applications where the letter of acceptance is from a school that provides better outcomes and treatment of international students. Still in the works so the details are sketchy, but in the context of the the lesson in our Study Permit course that pertains to selecting a study program, it appears that it will be directly on point.

We’re going to keep trying to provide news and updates on Canadian Study programs, so as they used to say, “stay tuned”
